The team at the Barrio Logan Association knows how to bring the block to life.
Last Saturday, they hosted an event that brought science to the streets in a fun and accessible way for the whole community. I say that as a kid who had to retake biology in high school, because I was so bored by the entire course. That didn’t stop me from soaking in every minute of the Barrio Logan Science and Art Expo.
Kids were blasting rockets to the sky, navigating robots through the streets and handling large snakes like seasoned zoologists. Parents were posing with pristine lowriders, their wheels shining in the San Diego sun.
The event is just one of a huge series hosted by the BLA. Up next is the newly-announced Sonidos Del Barrio, June 15, July 20 and August 17.
